Keshet: For LGBTQ+ equality in Jewish life

Jewish Texans Sign On: Recommit to LGBTQ+ Equality

This year has been a challenging one for LGBTQ+ Texans, including our LGBTQ+ Jewish community. While the vast majority of anti-LGBTQ+ bills were rejected during the 2025 legislative sessions, we can't deny the potential impacts of the bills that did pass, and the ways LGBTQ+ people have been targeted by those in power to divide and scapegoat.

Now is the time to use our voices to boldly say: Texas Jews stand up for LGBTQ+ rights.

By signing on, we affirm:
  • We are Jewish Texans who are committed to standing up for LGBTQ+ equality.
  • When members of our community are attacked simply because of who they are, it is our duty to speak up.
  • We commit to using our voices to challenge harmful, divisive rhetoric wherever we may hear it.
  • We pledge to use our voices to speak with our elected officials about laws that impact our communities, fighting back against legislation that puts our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and congregants at risk and supporting non-discrimination protections for all people.
  • Though we come from diverse backgrounds, political affiliations, and communities, we are united by our shared responsibility to care for one another. This unity is our strength, and it's what will help us build a Texas where everyone – including LGBTQ+ people – can thrive.
