Keshet: For LGBTQ+ equality in Jewish life

Jewish Arizonans Sign-On: Recommit to LGBTQ+ Equality

This year has been a challenging one for LGBTQ+ people across the United States, including our LGBTQ+ Jewish community in Arizona. While Governor Hobbs vetoed the anti-LGBTQ+ bills that crossed her desk, preventing them from becoming law, we can't deny the impacts of harmful rhetoric used by those in power to scapegoat LGBTQ+ people and divide us from one another.

Now is the time to use our voices to boldly say: Arizona Jews stand up for LGBTQ+ rights.

By signing on, we affirm:
  • We are Jewish Arizonans who are committed to standing up for LGBTQ+ equality.
  • When members of our community are targeted simply because of who they are, it is our duty to speak up.
  • We commit to using our voices to challenge harmful, divisive rhetoric wherever we may hear it.
  • We pledge to use our voices to speak with our elected officials about laws that impact our communities, fighting back against legislation that puts our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and congregants at risk and supporting non-discrimination protections for all people.
  • Though we come from diverse backgrounds, political affiliations, and communities, we are united by our shared responsibility to care for one another and our desire to build an Arizona where everyone – including LGBTQ+ people – can thrive.
